50% discount when buying a CD
Originally, the option to buy a rCD with 50% discount was included in the new incentive scheme, as a replacement for the 1CD/part option.
Now one of the SAB buddy artists adapted this 50% discount for promoters (2 part believers): a second CD with 50% off, but limited to 5 CDs (whatever this might mean, it's a contradiction in itself - the original plan had 1CD with 50% off for each following part bought.).
1. How will this be handled? Does it apply when buying a CD on the Sellaband store later? Or will the believer has to exercise his right before he gets his 'believer CD', and gets the 2nd (3rd, 4th..) CD is shipped home together with it? Or does the believer gets a discount voucher/code for a retailer, for example the offical Sellaband partner Amazon?
2. What is the price a believer has to pay, with 50% off? Do the current prices from the Sellaband store apply ($12.50/CD, with 50% it would mean $6.25)?
I'm sure Sellaband must have thought about this already last year, when the general incentive plan was invented ;-) (okay, I admit, a little joke...)

Inappropriate?ahh, reading in the forum brought me to another, connected question:
3. When believers are buying these CDs with 50% discount, will these count as regular sales, i.e. 40% of the revenues go back to believers (as a group, of course, not to the individual believer who buys the CDs), and will these sales be charts-eligible? -
Inappropriate? All in due time, Thor. Around the time the first Artist who fall under these conditions is released, all the details of distribution and incentive selection will be announced publicly.

Inappropriate?Hmm, you really mean it will only be announced when the first artist with the 50% discount incentive reaches the goal? Or even when the CD is released? Interesting!
Offering a 50% discount without knowing the original price and terms is not very meaningful. In Hind's calculation, I read about €7.50 as the discounted price - probably calculating with the usual (?) Dutch(?) retail price of €15/CD. These €7.50 are currently more than $11, very close to the normal price of a Sellaband rCD.
Reminds me somehow of that company which is already selling trips to space to private persons, though the starships supposed to be used for the trip don't even exist :-)
Anyway, thanks for the answer, no need for further discussions from my side..
I’m amused

Inappropriate?Somehow these 50% discount can't be an advantage, especially not, if you have to pay a part for each 50% discount. As you won't get a LimEd Cd for each part invested anymore...
Even in the first intention, where it was counted for rCd ($12,50), the 50% discount would result in $10 (part to get 50% discount) + $6,25 (50% discount) = $16,25 for the rCd. (+ shippingcost)
So, this 50% discount makes only sense, if you get for each part invested an (LimEd) Cd, but then again, you already have your incentive for investing more then one part.
I’m happy confused

Inappropriate?Hi Wyando,
You are right if you only take the rCDs into account. However, if you have bought more parts than 2 you'll also get more incentives too. -
Sorry, but this really sounds like weakening the whole incentives program... If you just buy 2 parts, in fact you don't have an advantage, and if you buy more than 2 parts, your incentives (e.g. shares) are eaten up by the "costs" getting a CD at 50% discount (of course, only if you use that 50% discount). Anyway, not that I will have a problem with that incentive, I was just hoping that we could get a simple, clear definition, because this question will not be the last time asked (especially for the non-english speakers). -
Inappropriate?Dear Boudewijn, don't you think it's high time to finally announce how the voucher system works, now that the first believers have to choose if they want to get them? Or do you want us to buy a pig in a poke again, with "exact details announced later".
Who knows, maybe the vouchers will be only usable in the SAB store, and there will be $10 shipping costs for CDs bought using the voucher, because SAB's system requires that?
I’m amused + kidding
-
Inappropriate?Well Thor,
The vouchers will be applicable in the SAB-store only, and the normal shipping costs will apply.

Inappropriate?Just to be sure:
- Will these vouchers be for personal use only or can these vouchers be used by other people? (once per voucher of course). -
Inappropriate? The vouchers will be linked to the Believer account and I believe they cannot be sent to other people. However, you can of course always change the shipping address.
-
Inappropriate?I forgot to ask about the price of the CDs. Now that we have to ask for everything, even the most absurd things, just to be sure:
Will the current $12,50 for a regular CD be kept, which equals $6,25 with a 50% discount?
Or does Team Sellaband intend to raise the price right on time, with some new change, to, let's say, $20, so people with a 50% discount will have to pay $10 (hmm, wasn't that the price we once had for rCDs in the SAB store)?
And what you call "normal shipping costs" refers to the ones currently used in the store, i.e. $3,25 for 1 CD, $4,30 for 2/3 CDs and so on?
I’m amused
-
And is there still a commission ($0,50) if CDs are sold through a believers profile?
